Junior Classical League (Non-WHA Students)
Section: Languages  |   School: School of Logic, School of Rhetoric
WHA is opening a limited number of seats in our JCL chapter to students not otherwise registered for a WHA course who are interested in joining our club. If your student is registered for any WHA course, please see Junior Classical League (WHA students).
Junior Classical League is an extracurricular club for all secondary (grades 7–12) Latin and Greek students (FOL+) who wish to broaden their classical language education while socializing with friends and teachers. Student-elected officers and Wilson Hill faculty design activities and games which explore topics in the classics in a lively and engaging way, and since this is a club, not a class, there are no assignments or tests. All JCL members are expected to abide by the WHA Community Covenant.
All JCL members are able to take the National Latin or Greek Exam, the National Classical Etymology Exam, and the National Latin Vocabulary Exam at no additional cost. Junior Classical League is an impressive extracurricular to add to college applications, and joining Junior Classical League is one of the requirements for induction into the National Latin and Greek Honor Societies. Students who are currently studying Latin or Greek at home or elsewhere are welcome to join the Wilson Hill JCL and even students who are taking a break from Latin or Greek but who have studied previously are encouraged to register.
This class meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month.
Note: The registration system may incorrectly charge a Student Records Fee. If so, this will be promptly refunded. We are working to correct the problem.
