Discovering and sharing parallels between science and Scripture is Ryan’s great passion. Teaching has become his mission to bring students closer to their Creator, to encourage curiosity in the creation, and to wonder at life. His classes have a light and positive atmosphere where a chance to make an eye-rolling play on words is never wasted. Both of his children have attended WHA and have been classically educated at home from the beginning, as he was himself.
Mr. Thompson obtained a Master of Science degree in Geoscience from Colorado State University. He then spent over a decade working in the petroleum business in Colorado and Texas. After deciding to take on a new adventure and shift careers, he started teaching at schools in Amman, Jordan, while putting his wife of almost two decades, Sherelle, through culinary school. There he taught environmental science, biology, and math, and they visited many stunning natural and historical sites. He currently teaches both online and in-person from a new home base in Sussex, England, where his wife is now a chef. Together with their brindle dog, Brie, the family enjoys hiking and visiting beaches, castles, and cathedrals.
