Tara Harrison
“I’m just not a math person” is a sentence that Tara has heard from students for many years, but she has yet to meet someone who truly fits that description! Whether natural lovers of math or not, students will find that Tara’s class meets them at their level and deepens their understanding of the subject. Each student will leave her class with a real-world sense of how math affects their world, an understanding of the long history of this subject in our world, and the tools necessary to succeed in the next step of their studies.
Tara graduated from Hillsdale College with a bachelor’s degree in Politics and Latin. She herself was homeschooled and was a rhetorical beneficiary of many classical online classes prior to studying at Hillsdale. Since graduation, she has worked as a 5th grade math and writing teacher in a public charter school in Florida. As a Midwest transplant to the sunshine state, Tara has enjoyed exploring the beauty of God’s creation by kayaking, paddle-boarding, and biking the many waterways and nature trails of Florida. She and her husband will welcome their first baby at the end of the summer. As new parents, they are so excited to share the great gift of Christ’s love and faithfulness with their son!
